ABOUT SAS Team
Sukhi Brar
Sukhi Brar provides assessment and support for individuals, families and groups as a Mental Health Clinician with the Support After Suicide Team. She is also the Clinical Lead for Suicide Prevention and Postvention for the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington branch, where her focus is to promote clinical excellence in suicide prevention and postvention, in collaboration with CMHA staff and community partners. In addition, Sukhi is Adjunct Faculty with the School of Nursing at Western University.
Jane Brown
Jane Brown is the Peer Navigator and brings lived experience with loss of loved ones to suicide. Jane understands why loss by suicide can be more complicated than other deaths. She walks alongside those she supports as they discover how to live without their loved one. Jane says, " I don't know how they feel but I do know how I felt after my loved ones took their own lives." Jane supports individuals to focus on hope and finding a place in their life for the memory of their loved one.
Rhonda Watt
Rhonda started with the OPP in January 2008. She has spent most of her career on the front line. She worked as a patrol officer with multiple deployments in our Northern Indigenous Communities. She spent three years as a member of The Ontario Provincial Police Provincial Liaison Team. Four years were spent working as a Youth Officer with Wellington North and Centre Wellington high schools. Rhonda graduated from York University with a degree in Human Services and Human Behaviours in 2021. She has additional training in Mental Health, Youth Resiliency, Crisis Intervention, Substance and Addiction Disorders and Suicide Intervention. In addition to being the Wellington OPP Mental Health Coordinator, Rhonda is also a Peer Supporter and sits on an advocacy group for first responders with Encompas, the Mental Health Wellness Program for the OPP.
Lisa Miller
Lisa Miller is the manager for the Support After Suicide Team and local resident with a passion for providing supports and services to those who live in the rural community. She is also one of the children’s services managers for the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo Wellington branch, where she supports teams in providing developmental and mental health services to children and their families across Guelph and Wellington County.
Cecilia Marie Roberts
Cecilia Marie Roberts is the Manager of Strategic Wellness Initiatives for the County of Wellington where she is currently leading the implementation of the Here4Hope project, Wellington’s framework for promoting life and preventing suicide.
